What's new in Local 81

Nov 7, 2000 IHO Order on excessive costs charged by LU 81 for union personnel involved in monitoring election mailing. LU 81 incumbents contend that retirees refuse to work for less than $48.80/hour to watch labels being affixed as they force challengers to do mailing on Sunday when they know bulk mailing rates are not available on non-weekdays, another trick corrupt LIUNA officials use to screw the rank and file.

Sept 30, 2000 IHO issues asinine, undemocratic, and illogical opinion on Burch's election protest.

August 19,2000 Publish IHO decision on Pancini ineligibility

May 21, 2000

IHO rules Pacini ineligible for office and sustains the ruling of election judges appointed by opponent after inexperienced investigator files report. IHO indicates that the successful election to office will not prevent a review of the candidate's qualifications by the IHO. McGough wants to know why this policy was not in effect in 1996 when he informed the IHO that "made" member DiForti was not eligible for office in local 5 having been appointed to office in 1994 without being a member for 2 years in continuous good standing and his candidacy for delegate was the fruit of that poisonous tree.

Crimedawg waiting for decision particulars before advising members to go into federal court or OLMS and halt election. Pancini, to the best of my beliefs, today is a foreman, not a superintendent, gets paid hourly, and does not have hiring or firing authority. At least that's what his employer says. In other words, Pancini is not management and this is just another bad decision by the IHO.

This case is a good example why there is a pressing need for a collaborative web site that will allow multiple authors to post and publish information without going through the bottleneck of a webmaster. Laborers for JUSTICE will provide free of charge to reformers web sites and the tools to web publish. Chris White, the webmaster of laborers.org, is a good example of how someone with limited talents and capabilities but a willingness to learn no matter how long it takes, can publish  a very basic, rudimentary web site that contains helpful information.
