Calendar for LIUNA 2006 Convention Delegate and International Officer Elections

(All dates of 2006, unless otherwise indicated)

December 10,  2005

First Campaign and Expenditure Report ("CFER") must be submitted to the Elections Officer. (Art. VI, Sec. K(1)).

February 1, 2006 Each Local must have selected at least three Election Judges for the delegate elections and given the names to the Elections Officer.  (Art. I, Sec. A(4)(b)).
April 1st General Secretary-Treasurer shall issue a Convention Call to each Local Union and District Council.  (Art. I, Sec. A(3)(a)).

Each Local shall prepare a list of worksites where members are working as of that date.  (Art. III, Sec. A).

April 10th Second Campaign Financing and Expenditure Report ("CFER") must be submitted to the Elections Officer.  (Art. VI, Sec. K(1)).
April 15th Deadline for each Local or combined Locals to complete and submit to the Elections Officer an Election Plan Form ("EPF").  (Art. I, Sec. 5(a)).
May 1st-31st Delegate Nominations (Art. I, Sec. A(2)).
June 1st-30th Delegate Elections (Art. I, Sec. A(2)).
June 1st Worksite list updated by Locals (Art. III, Sec. 1).
July 10th Third Campaign Financing and Expenditure Report ("CFER") must be submitted to the Elections Officer.  (Art. VI, Sec. K(1)).
July 15th Deadline for the Elections Officer to furnish to each bona fide candidate the names and home addresses of all Convention delegates eligible to nominate or vote.  (Art. III, Sec. C).
August 14th Last date on which members wishing to seek the office of General President, General Secretary-Treasurer, or Vice-President shall declare intentions in writing to the Elections Officer.  (Art. II, Sec. C).
August 15th Deadline for General Secretary-Treasurer to review with the Elections Officer the records of all Locals to determine if the Local is current in all payments.  (Art. VIII, Sec. B(1)).

On or about August 15th, the General Secretary-Treasurer shall issue report of delegate credentials to the Elections Officer, the Credentials Committee, the Local Union Secretary-Treasurer or NPMHU Local President, and all the previously certified delegates, indicating which of those delegates are entitled to be seated.  (Art. VIII, Sec. B(2)).

September 1st On or about September 1st, the Elections Officer must resolve all challenges for delegate credentials.  (Art. VIII, Sec. B(4)).

Filing deadline for accreditation petitions.  (Art. III, Sec. D(8)).

LIUNA, including the NPMHU, submits to the Elections Officer updated membership list.  (Art. III, Sec. E(1)).

September 10th-15th International Convention
September 30th Deadline for International Officer candidates to submit slate declarations.  (Art. IV, Sec. A(4)).

All members in good standing as of this date shall be eligible to vote in the International Officer election.  (Art. IX, Sec. B(1)).

October 1st Work site list updated by Locals.  (Art. III, Sec. A(1)).
October 10th General Secretary-Treasurer, in consultation with the Elections Officer, shall furnish a Notice of Election to each Local Union.  (Art. IX, Sec. C(1)).

Fourth Campaign Financing and Expenditure Report ("CFER") must be submitted to the Elections Officer.  (Art. VI, Sec. K(1)).

November 1st On or about November 1st, the General Secretary-Treasurer, in consultation with the Elections Officer, shall mail out International Officer ballots to all eligible voters.  (Art. IX, Sec. D(4)).
December 10th Fifth Campaign Financing and Expenditure Report ("CFER") must be submitted to the Elections Officer.  (Art. VI, Sec. K(1)).
March 31, 2007 Sixth and final Campaign Financing and Expenditure Report ("CFER") must be submitted to the Elections Officer.  (Art. VI, Sec. K(1)).
