With our first quarterly paper,
our members are seeing that our goal of
educating and informing the membership
is going as planned. We have had labor
history classes for the local, classes on
steward rights, grievance procedures,
contract interpretation and basic labor
law. We are offering classes in Spanish
for our Latin members. I have prepared
a booklet on Officers Duties, Roberts
Rules of Order, Conducting a Meeting
and Making Motions at a Meeting. I
have appointed an interim executive
board who will learn and participate in
the various duties of officers. All this is
being done to prepare our Membership
in Democratic procedures that will
enable Local 2 to have a speedy election
and remove the Trusteeship. This can
only be attained through the help and
participation of Membership.

ATTENTION MEMBERS:
For as long as you can recall you
were considered just a number at
Local 2. Within the next quarter
(4th),
we are going to implement a system to
change that practice. For information on
Dues, or any other general information
you will only need to give us your name.
I hope this will be helpful to you in the
near future.
