Ludicrous election day of March 19, 2001 Local 2 background
Luskin's schedule for local 2's election
March 19, 2001, the election date proposed by LIUNA's GEB Attorney, Robert Luskin, falls on a Monday, a working day for the members of local 2. Having the election day on a Monday will enable the political workers at the Park District and Cook County to regain the control of local 2 that they had under John Matassa, Jr. and will unfairly deprive the workers in the tunnels and in the private sector of the reasonable opportunity to vote. The "political" workers of local 2 will be given time off to vote by their political bosses who like "sweetheart" contracts. The following "POLITICAL" members of local 2 were members of the executive board that supported organized crime boss John Matassa, jr's decision to reject supervision and use local 2 money to fight the complaint for trusteeship: See Schedule 9 of Local 2's LM-2 completed unprofessionally in handwriting. Schedule 10 has $30,000 allocated proportionally to hide the outrageous amount paid to incompetent deputy trustee, Albert Tracy, husband to Nancy Ruggero, Schipper's lady friend and assistant. Tracy gave away local 2's jurisdiction that Burke fought for and which Randy Dalton, to his everlasting credit, is regaining from the unethical business reps that are trying to steal it.
March 1, 2001 is the deadline for local 2 electing judges of election for convention delegates and for submitting election plans. The members of local 2 do not want an appointed trustee to be in charge or have any influence over these choices. Local 2 will receive it's call to the convention around February 15,2001 and the members want their duly elected officers to receive that call.
Jim McGough has tentatively reserved the meeting hall at Teamster City for Saturday ,March 10, 2000. This is the same meeting place used for local 2 union meetings with ample space for political action and discussion. Jim did this as a favor to the election officer because he is well aware of local 2 trustees' failures to plan ahead and reserve meeting halls. Local 2's normal meeting date is on the second Tuesday of the month, not the second Monday of the Month as scheduled incorrectly by the GEB Attorney. This would require under LIUNA's constitution additional unnecessary mailings to notify the members that their meeting date has been unilaterally changed without their consent or approval.
Laborers for JUSTICE members Burke and Tomasik will attempt to obtain through court action an election schedule that more closely accommodates the needs of local 2 members and not the needs of the trustee or the GEB Attorney.
LIUNA has had 18 months to install an accurate record keeping system in local 2 and now tells the members it will need an additional 4 months to make sure the records are accurate. That in the opinion of CrimeDawg is simply intolerable.
CrimeDawg had ample experience in converting all the manual records of prominent law firms across the country into a computer digestible format in substantially less time than 4 months. The records of those seeking office, (approximately 40 individuals at best) can be checked in a matter of days not weeks.
If CrimeDawg's slate gets elected, the manual antiquated card file system Luddites are installing in local 2 will be replaced with technologically modern computer based system that will allow members to access all local 2 information via the internet, via personal digital assistants, telephones, cell phones, computers. etc.
CrimeDawg told trustee Schippers in June 1999 that he had to replace the existing record keeping system that the GEB Attorney calls appallingly inaccurate. CrimeDawg offered to update the records of each member for $1 apiece after providing Trustee Schippers with the 200-300 envelopes that had incorrect addresses. Schippers, of course, refused the offer. Local 2 will now waste more money.
