A 38-year-old Big Dig laborer remained in critical condition
yesterday at Boston Medical Center after being injured on the job Saturday
morning. Natalio Elias of New Bedford, an employee of the Cambridge-based Modern
Continental Enterprises, was struck in the head by a bundle of steel scaffolding
crossbraces that fell while being hoisted by a crane at the Ventilation Building
One construction site in South Boston.
